Finally, someone else just like me. My friends might call me a dweeb sometimes for reading texts on ancient history. Anyway, my favorite all time civilizations would have to be the Maya's and incas. The kind of inventions they made are astonishing. They made a 365 day calender that is still acurate to this day. It even tells the different phases of the moon. Unbelievable stuff what our ancient ancient ancestors did.

Yeah, modern day life does not hold a candle to the ancients.
The only thing I know about the Scythians is that they were an incredible horse culture that invented the stirrup. As a horsewoman I have to admire them for one of the most influential inventions in history.
I was obsessed with the Egyptians when I was young (I know, I know . . . ). But lately I have gone global.
I tend to focus more on the horse-orientated cultures: Huns, Mongols, Sioux, Cheyenne, etc. May people never forget their history.

I like to study ancient western civilizations like the Romans and Greeks...but Egypt is my favorite. I even have "The Book of the Dead"...as for the Romans, I've had 3 years of Latin and the Greeks, well, I come from a small town so I was lucky to take Latin...the college I went to didn't even offer Greek (though the Latin professor is proficient in it) because there wasn't enough interest in it.

There are some sturdy ideas here already. yet there are various sturdy ideas. How proper to the scientific discoveries of Archimedes? How proper to the transition from the Roman Republic to the Roman Empire? Or the re-uniting of the Roman Empire by using Constantine? in keeping with risk the advancements in technologies made under Charlemagne (yeah, it somewhat is not any longer historical historical past in spite of the shown fact that it somewhat is way until now the French Revolution). Or the Crusades? (or basically the 1st marketing campaign). the fall of the Roman Empire is basically too vast a topic for 1500 words. I recommend, it somewhat is like 2 words in keeping with 3 hundred and sixty 5 days! 8^) With in elementary terms 1500 words to write down you will get very particular. communicate approximately basically one guy or woman, working example, or one single experience.

I especially like the Egyptians. I know, not very original, but I try to get all the information I can on ancient Egypt, from Nefertiti and Akenatten to Ramses the Great and Seti I.

My favorite time period would have to be early celtic and gaelic history. Its all good though also you might want to try looking into WWII history very interesting, also if I may suggest that you try getting into the times of plato, aristotle and socrates. The main reason that I say you should is there is a lot of fascinating things in their philosophy that have much to do with with events that have taken place and will take place. Another thing you may want to try and get into is philosophical phsycology.
