The Beltran-Soriano question is great. I have always liked Soriano, I've followed him since he was a Yankee, but I may have to go with Beltran here. He has almost as much power as Soriano, and they run about the same. However, Soriano strikes out much more, which can kill a rally, and despite having a great arm, he isn't a good outfielder yet, as he's still learning the position. Beltran is one of the top 5 centerfielders in the game, and can run down balls in the gap, and he also throws well.
Chicago will get in, BOSTON IS DONE!!!

Cardinals will win the division and Cincinnati will go home because the wild card winner will come from the west. For your second question I would take Beltran not only for his glove but also his bat, they can match in any category but there is something that Soriano don't have and that is leadership and also you can build a team around Beltran not Soriano. Next question I would say tha Chicago will go as the wild card, Boston is DONE.

The Reds and Cards both aren't deserving of the playoffs but unfortunately LaRussa and the Cards will get to lose in the playoffs instead of someone new (reds). There's a very good chance that the White and Red Sox won't get it, for sure Boston's not though. I would rather have Soriano because he's yet to have a bad year, Beltran stunk it up last year, plus Soriano steals bases, he doesn't get as much attention playing for the Nationals.

The Reds can win the division.
I would rather have Beltran. A better player and people may think this is overated but a better teammate. Beltran will do for the team while Soriano will do for himself. Also Beltran is more patient at the plate and doesn't need the hr all the time

red will still beat out the cards. pujols doesn't pitch.
that's a hard one. beltran is legit-but a very slow starter-and last year with the mets still sticks in many peoples minds. soriano..when what the last year he hit 16 hrs? guys put up numbers since day one and in all reality is the only real 40 40 threat in the majors. yes, beltran is close to that but in all reality he's only come close to that once.
soriano can say he pretty much does that on a yearly basis.
soriano.
ps: for those that claim beltran is a better defensive player-soriano in his FIRST YEAR OF PLAYING THE OF LEADS THE MAJORS IN OUTFIELDER ASSITS.

1. The Reds can win the division, but might lose out on the Cards at the very end of the season, but they'll hang around.
2. Beltran, because he is a switch hitter and has better knowledge of the strike zone than Soriano. He is also better defensively.
3. Neither will get in I think, but White Sox aren't out of it yet.

1) the Reds don't have the pitching to catch 'em. Cardinals pitching is just starting to come back around.
2)soriano seems to be the most complete player, but, beltran sure is no slouch. i'd take soriano--if he had the team around him that beltran has, he would be having a phenomenal year.
3)white sox will make wild card--red sox are toast.

Cardinals will win the division. I would rather have Carlos Beltran because he has more power, has some speed, has contact, and better defense. The White Sox will win the wild card and make it, however, the Red Sox will NOT make it, and the Braves for the first time in 15 years will NOT make it to the playoffs.

the cards pitching is so weak, that yes, virginia there is a santa claus: they could win it. I would rather have soriano than beltran. Beltran has been prone to longer slumps than soriano.
