I was raised believing that "GOD" was the creature of the universe and never to be used in "vain".
In this forum all I hear is ZIDANE the "GOD"
Has he become our "GOD" ?
Just curious!

A human cannot be compared to God, he is just called God of "football"! I am a great fan of him, doesnt mean I am going to put his picture on the wall and start worshipping him...

Just because you believe that doesn't mean everyone else should.

By the way, most of the time when someone says that a HUMAN is God, they're just trying to show that they are that good. You know how some people call players kings? Like Eric the King or Henry the King? Well, it's the same thing with God except it shows that the player who you're referring to as God is even better than Kings since God > Kings.

And also, for the person who called Zidane a muslim, he's a non practicing muslim. He was born into Islam but we don't know whether or not he is fully muslim or anything of the sort. We shouldn't talk about his religion since he's keeping it private, so obviously it's none of our business.

Zidane is definately not God nor should anyone refer to him as one. I believe in the Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Jesus is the only Lord and Saviour and He's my Lord. What has Zidane done for me except **** me off and disappoint a whole lot of soccer fans?

I love Zidane and admire him very much. But Zidane is not a God, he is a human just like the rest of us. There is only one God, or higher force, and no human should ever be called a God. To call a human a God is raising them to a level where they are unreachable. We cannot identify with a god, because a God doesn't have human emotions and is a higher level than humans. One of the reasons I love Zidane so much is that I can identify with him, he did what anyone would do in a certain situation. That is how heroes are, we respect and admire them so much because we can relate to them, we see ourselves in them, we can feel what they feel, so they are humans just like us, our struggles and triumphs are the same. So I can't understand why people refer to other people as "God", because it makes the hero unreachable, unfathomable, and the most important aspect of a hero is that they are reachable, they are human.

No he is not my God. It's not just him though, people refer to celebrities and their idols as Gods as well, it's sickening and insulting to people who believe in God and it's also a grave sin.
Did Zidane create the universe?
I'm sure that Zidane himself would not like to be referred to as God and people should stop doing it.

I was raised the same, to believe that God is the creator of everything we see. Many people have stopped believing in a creator and started worshipping other things, such as celebrities. Seeing that a god is someone or something that is worshipped, this celebrity for them becomes a god.

In addition, I think these days I think people use the word god in the sense that somebody is really good at something.

A "God" is someone or something you or someone else worships. As for the "creature of the universe," I am of the opinion that He deserves our worship more than Zidane does.

God is both male and female and is a wonderful god doesn't judge anyone. We judge ourselves and we need to forgive ourselves. We are all part of God we are Gods fingers and emotion. Yes God lives through us. Yes there is another side, we all go back to where we come from. A beautiful place. All calm and loving. We make our path through this life which is hard but we are just here for a little while before we go home. God is loving no matter what name you use. There is nothing dark or bad about God.
