Most people who own guns are decent, responsible, law abiding citizens. There are more people killed each year (including children) by car accidents and in swimming pools each alone than all gun related incidents combined. Yet I've never heard about a group trying so hard to ban each of these. Is

Ok, heres more. When we have a problem, say a burglar in the home, who do you call? The guys with the guns, the police. Shouldn't a person have the right to defend him/herself against a violent crime?

the big deal is that the anti-gun nuts have convinced a large portion of the country that guns are dangerous. the politicians like to attack the right to bear arms as an easy way to get there face on the news, and pretend to do something about crime.

the truth is that with 4.2 million new guns made in the us, or imported last year (2005), crime has gone down.

more than 70% of violent crime involves no weapons, but we will all be safer is we go after the guns (that law abiding citizens use)

Because it's an easy scapegoat for our problems with violence today. We like to have all the answers too. Though in big cities to many of the wrong people have guns which is a good reason to tighten control over them, but that's really more and issue with the people not the guns.

I figure that some thug is gonna use a weapon wheather it's a gun or not. So take the gun away and the problem is no closer solved.

Bull. it truly is no longer something yet a rant to help weapons pfft. Why did no longer you apart from mght positioned up approximately what number gun vendors have been shot and killed by using their own weapons, or how their youngsters shot themselves with their weapons, or what number weapons that have been utilized in violent deadly crimes got here from mentioned residences? Pffft. there is often yet another part to each tale. it truly isn't any "enormous deal" with registered small calibur weapons for "protection" owned by using in charge vendors! yet you human beings pick protection tension types weapons just to gloat which you very own one! and that's a criminal offense! you at the instant are not think to have protection tension weapons! And in case you do, the FBI and SWAT has a real to arrest you. If I might desire to stick to the regulation, then so do YOU!

I agree with you. However there is always someone that made an error and left a gun out and someone is killed.

My personal take on it is this. I have rifles and shotguns for hunting I do not have a handgun because the only valid use for them is hunting or hurting a human

There isn't a big deal, and the constitution protects our right to bear arms. The minor concern is criminals having access to guns. It is one of the first things taken in a break in.

What we need is better enforcement of felons in possession of fire arms, and a relaxing of the carry concealed laws. After all, a criminal would think twice if he was sure whether his intended victim had the ability to shoot back.

I'm with you on this one. I also feel the same way about tobacco and alcohol. First of all, I don't buy into the tobacco and cancer hype. I believe that cancer is a pre-determined gene. I've known people who smoke almost their whole lives and lived to be in their 90's and died of something other than cancer. My mother died of cancer at 56 and never smoked a cigarette in her life. Yet the government seems bent on taking down tobacco companies while drunk drivers are out killing people every day. Alcohol is also directly responsible for liver disease.

I am a gun owner and the day they come collecting guns......it'll be bloody at my house......

Remember...."Guns don't kill people, people kill people",

Guns should not be banned. You've heard the saying, "outlaw guns and only outlaws will have guns". Guns in the hands of responsible owners are no more dangerous than a knife in the kitchen drawer.

Well, probably because they are machines designed to actually kill and dismember people. Cars are transport and pools are for recreation but guns shoot a bullet that is actually designed to cut and explode flesh. Maybe those people think that someone like you, who compares a weapon to cars and pools, shouldn't be allowed to have a gun.

I agree. As the saying goes,'Guns don't kill, people do.'
It is though a big deal. You should respect the weapon that you have and remember there is consequences for what may or not happen when fired.
