Which of the two should I save for? Keep in mind that it'll probably take me upwards of 1 year to save for either one.

All depends on what you use it for. My Macbook rocks, but I was willing to pay because I will be using programs like final cut, after effects, photoshop, motion... So it comes down to the purpose it will serve for you.

By one year's time you could make a better decision, I would recommend the Apple, both for suprtior hardware design and a better operation system. Keep in mind that if you MUST have windows then you can still put windows onto a mac using parallels desktop or boot camp. Either way don't make the decision until you have the money in hand. :)

APPLE MAC DUDE THE SONY VAIO HAVE INTERNAL PROBLEMS U ALWAYS HAVE TO ADD MORE RAM THE PROCESSOR ALWAYS OVERHEATS BUT THE APPLE MAC ARE PROBERLY THE BEST BY FAR
