if you have a CSA then you either continue paying it or go to jail for non-support. Just because she marries someone else doesnot relieve you of your responsibilities as a parent. The only way not to pay is if the guy she marries adopts your child, then you have to sign an agreement relinquishing all your parental rights to the child. In my oppinion you are a piece of trash if you do that just to get out of paying support. I pay $700 a month on my CSA and although I could use that money for myself, I would never give up my kids for $$. They have a price tag that cannot be valued................................

Don't get me started on this one!

If the other man is working, then you are able to come up with a private agreement to pay towards teh upkeep of your son. I don't think anybody would have a problem with that would they?

Problem is - Is your ex a grabbing b*tch? Because a friend of mine married a top accountant, but refused a private agreement, meaning the CSA still used their crappy formula. And she is still entitled to 40% of his salary, weven though she is now living in a 4 bedroomed detached house with a his and hers personalised Merc each, all becase they are getting an extra £400 a month off my mate - who has had to mave back in with his parents.

In my case, my ex's new bloke had 3 kids already and is a professional dole bludger. As they are on benefits, the CSA won't allow a private agreement (this has been to court with me and my ex and the judge even said "I can understand fully what you want to d and whay - and that both of you would be better off with a private agreement - but legally I cannot rule in your favour") and so I ended up payign for 4 kids - only one of which was mine!

The CSA should be there to chase parents not willing to pay, not hit the easy targets (like me) who have worked from teh age of 17 and therefore have assets. They are a Govt. Deprtment so have the same powers as the tax man. They can re-possess your house, car and remove your driving license if you refuse to pay them, so if like me you have done "the right thing" you are up sh*t creek.

Sorry to horrify you - bt you have to keep on her good side so she agrees to the private agreement.

yes, u have to pay until the child reaches 18 and if the child goes to college u have to pay until the child is 21. It doesnt matter that u were never married she bore a child for u so u have to be responsible and send her money so she can take care of it. also it depends on the custody issue and if u were willing to let the new husband adopt the child, then he would be the responsible adult incharge of the child once the legal documents were in place.

Yes, you do. Your children are still your children, even if their mother is married to someone else.

If you don't have kids - then the CSA shouldn't even get involved.

You will have to pay CSA until your child/children are eighteen or leave full time education.

If no children involved then you won't pay a penny

Yes you must still pay. You can take her back to CSA for a re-evaluation and have the amount recalculated.

Yes. If you relinquish your rights, and the noo-dood adopts your kids, you can get out of it.

WTF is your problem you don't want to be a man to your kids? You think lack-of-marriage means you're not the bio-dad, with the responsibilities that come with it? Guys like you give the rest of us a really bad name. Bad enough you're making babies - now you want to get out of caring for them. Do us all a favor, and just sterilize yourself.
