the first question is a question with a 50/50 outcome they are only harmful if they relate to you or are of a nature that conflicts with the law.
Yes secrets are harmful within a relationship. however if it is a relationship for one night or for just for the pleasure of sexual desire then it matters not.
If the relationship is intended to last and a long lasting future is to be made of it then there SHOULD BE NO SECRETS between the two.
One must understand LOVE and its true meaning and its emotional state and the pleasures it arouses within. Do not confuse it with LUST.
Having secrets within a relationship will not allow Love to Blossom and eventually fruit into themost amazing fruit ever tasted by all Five (i belive SIX) bodily senses.
A relationship requires a full understanding of each other down to the deepest chambers within each others mind and all bodily senses must be engaged in this process.
SEX/COMMUNICATION. between the pair is a must this Bonds the relationship and allows the FLOW of chemicals that the body generates during this amazing sensual process to pass between each other ENRICHING & BONDING the relationship thus leading to a healthy/prosperous life with healthy/loving/caring well bonded off spring. So you see secrets are harmful as they will act as barriers and limit the flow of forward natural energys/senses that are emitted from each inthe generation of real LOVE
Try it and enjoy , oh alcohol should be kept out or to a extermely low level of consumption, as this causes false feelings aggression unbalanced senses, stupidity, foul abuse and fighting and HATE

A secret is what is known only to you or a close associate, or even a small cycle of friends. And even what is known to you may sometimes be blown out of your mouth wittingly or unwitting.sometimes you needed someone to talk to or just angry at a situation and told someone something you thought was secret .And so are relatives or friends, that in absolute terms no matter how long you or someone may keep secret, nothing is a secret, for sooner or later someone will get to know.
For that reason, secrets are harmful because sooner or later your partner comes to know, and looses confidence or trust in you and your relationship suffers. No one is perfect and so most people don't expect perfection from you. So learning to live a life free from secrecy helps to free your conscience from guilt.Remember the famous saying to "do unto others what you like others do unto you."

I believe real secrets are not harmful. By real I mean, those that only you are aware of them and there is not the slightest possibility that others know. But as this is an ideal situation and not a real one, yes sometimes secrets are really harmful, for example if you start making love with your wife's best friend!

Maybe not all secrets are harmful but its always best to be honest and open with loved ones from the start so you both know where you stand and more importantly can trust each other - there is no decent relationship without trust.

A secret is not harmful until it stops being one, but in some instances it can be a relief, in others it can have dire consequences for a relationship.

secrets can make or break a relationship. there are many between my friends.. if you're on the inside its sort of like being in a secret society.. it creates an "us against them" type of thing... but if you're keeping secrets from one another this can create some serious damage.

Depends who you are keeping something secret from.
Spouses should never keep secrets - unless it's things like their surprise birthday present :)
