Core Duo is the latest processor from Intel. It's faster, thanks to it's two internal processors and has a lower power consumtion so, it's a lot better if you're thinking of buying a notebook.

Cheers!

I'm typing on a one year old Intel Centrino HP Pavilion dv1000 dvd enternainment notebook. Duo is the newest, Pentium M is mobile power saving, Pentium 4 is 5or6 year old processor design. When possable buy the newest design Duo processor and don't forget about hard drive space more is better.Processor speed on the Duo is not a problem. Go for the most you can afford.

intel core duo, because it's a multi-core processor and compatible with windows vista and leave pentium M and pentium 4 in the dust.

intel core duo
they are new from intel
with 2 cores each have one processor
so u get double power
but they are expensive
ask your self what u want computer for
for video editing --------buy intel core duo
for games buy AMD X2 processor computer
For everything else Pentium 4 is enough(or AMD 64 is enough)

Wait for the AMD quad core to come out. The Intel quad core is just 2 double cores on a single die. Also the cores share a common cache (L2). The AMD has 4 seperate cores on the die, and seperate cache for each. This will make it faster and more responsive. AMD is also a bit cheaper, and they tend to run cooler with less power usage.
