I buy a canon 8500 printer( US US 400 )
it is over a year and
the maintenance fee for next year is around US 60 dollars,
it seems alot....
Should I paid it?
I have a old canon printer which have nothing happen for 3 years.

Nope, service contracts are a money maker for the companies.
If your "old" printer was fine for 3 years, and you bought a new one anyway, why pay for a service contract you wont use? In three years you may purchase an updated printer and will have wasted all that money for nothing!!!

When asked if I want maintenance contract by a salesperson, my reply is, if it won't last longer than the manufactures warranty, then it must not be worth the initial cost. And why should I buy a peice of junk, to start with.

Extended warranties are a rip off!!!

you can get a new printer for $60 these days... not a good plan. At comp usa you get coverage for 3 years for something like $40 on multi function printers.

no wait for it to go bang, usually when you pay for cover nothing happens and its a big money spinner for them, extend only after manufacturers year is up if your having problems?
