In specific, there are a few grease marks that were left after removing the headliner to fix my sunroof.

If it's surface grease, then you can use something like Naptha(can be found at hardware store). If it went into the base of the material then it gets harder. The headliner is glued to the headliner. Is it fabric or is it fabric on foam(is it spongy). Naptha is a good product because:
it isn't harsh
it leaves no residue
It's hard to find a chemical which will clean, not leave a residue and not damage the materials you're trying to clean.
My all time favorite is "acrosol", but it's really hard to find and really expensive($20 a quart in 1996) If you can find it it should do the trick. We used it to clean interiors of motor homes with no damage. I bought it at an rv dealership.(McClain's in Oklahoma City, Okla).
The trick is to not let whatever you're using get through to the adhesive that holds the headliner. fast and lite- don't soak it.good luck
