O mememememememe! i hate preps! but i am not a goth or emo. most people can afford the hollister stuff but walmart is just as good. maybe less stylin' but whatever. prep cliques r sometimes based on attitude too... most of them r snobby and r soooooooooo mean to normals, goths, emoz, geeks, and the others. they almost always feel a sense of superiority to everyone else. hollister isnt reali a prep store.. i knwo this girl shes not prep (far from it) and she wears prep clothes.
Dont worry bout it. you can be proud of preppiness because ur a prep. be what u r regardless of emos and goths. they have their own thoughts and u have urs.

In order for everyone to get along, the labels (prep, goth, etc.) would have to be dropped. People don't like preps (although, I guess I am one) because they have the tendency to think they are better then everyone else because clothes and attitudes are status symbols and no one wants to be reminded that they aren't on the top of the food chain. Although stereotyping is bad, there isn't much that can be done about it except try and steer clear from those labels in the first place. Be who you are and ignore what everyone else says you are, you will have more friends in the end and get to know a variety of people.

It's all about misunderstanding. The fact that preps are usually more popular and more easily accepted by the adult world than emos and goths makes them feel they are doing it just as an easy way out of trouble. Preps are rarely considered weirdos, bats, rejects, or outcasts like emos and goths are. They are more mainstream and more diverse than other groups, causing the criticism. They wear very similar clothes too, but so do goths if you think about it.

Maybe it's because most preps are superficial and vain without an ounce of creativity in them. You buy whatever is popular and end up looking like your mom dressed you (but that just makes you seem ridiculous and not really the cause of the "hate").
You sound too hung up on how much you're willing to spend on clothes that you come across as desperate to prove that you can keep up with rich people. You may be "rich" but your middle class roots are still showing through. Look up "noveau riche".....that's you.
I don't know any rich kids from "old money" who are preps. They can hang out with anyone and not give a damn about what other people wear.
To me, preps aren't worth the time it takes to hate. Mostly, you're just too silly to take seriously.

Usually the reason people act this way is because they're simple JEALOUS. You're right, they probably can't afford certain clothes or they're secretly self concious about their bodies and only feel comfortable behind black makeup, piercings, etc. Also, goths and emo kids are usually trying to get attention in the only way they feel they can since I know many wish they could be like the preps or be friends with them. Don't worry about what others think. Express your own style and be confident and proud of the way YOU dress. Do what makes you happy.

hey i wouldnt post stuff like that on here , yeah i do hate preps but only most of them and the reason is because they are sooooo stuck up and think they are so cool, the reason we hate you is because you are all b****** and annoying and so fake, and yeah we all CAN afford hollister and AE and ambercrombie, in fact the stuff we wear costs more. why dont you think about something you say the next time you talk to an emo or goth and gothics are soo steriotyped and are actually really nice people.
