Well let's see, the first thing that you will need is a route to ride. Usually the rides last 3-4 hours long. The number of stops needed depends on the type of poker played. All of the runs that I have been on have been 5 card stud. Your start and stop point should be the same place and where you will draw your last card. You start your riders off in intervals, or at different points along the course, or half run the route forwards and the other half in reverse. It's however you want to do it, just make it fun.

At the other 4 stops, you have a rider there with a deck of cards in a paper bag to draw from. Each rider chooses one card. Your stops are wherever you choose, but it's usually a place where the riders can take a break and get gas, sodas, etc. Once everyone gets back to the start/finish and gets the last card, everyone compares hands. If there are ties, then another card is drawn between the tie until a winner is chosen. You can also allow people to purchase extra cards for a nominal fee.

Most runs charge between 5 and 10 dollars. The fees collected for the ride are usually given to a charitable orginization with the winner getting a percentage or your club keeping a percentage and the winner getting a percentage. That's something that your club should decide. Also, ride the route prior to the run to ensure the time that it will take for the ride, as well as for ensuring that the maps that you print up don't get anyone lost.

Remember that the point of the poker run is to have a good time while riding and enjoying the camraderie of other riders and raising money for a good charity or someone in need.

Good luck, be safe and ride safe.
