There is no actual limit to how old you have to be, but your parents have a say if you are old enough to play. My mom personally doesn't like the game, so she won't let me buy it.

Your old enough. For someone to really understand it, they should probably be about your age. My six year old loves to play it, but doesn't quite understand everything that goes on.

I don't think that there is an age limit you have to be to play. I think the age on the box is just recommendation.
