get a microwave save dish or mug. Fill it with approx. 3/4 of water and 2 slices of lemon, microwave it (uncovered) on high for about 5 minutes. It will remove stuck on food and it will deodorize your microwave. Wipe clean (paper towel)

Try cleaning.
Put a couple of tablespoons of lemon juice and a cup of water in a microwaveable safe dish. Heat on high for 3 minutes to loosen any stuck on food. Wipe clean. Repeat if necessary.
Keeps it smelling lemon fresh too:)

You said it was stinking, but not what the odor smelled like. Depending on the smell:
1. It may need cleaning
or
2. It could have an electrical short
