Many people have pointed out Iran's support for Hezbollah - not only in supplying weapons, but money as well. However, Iran obviously gets its money from oil; the biggest consumer of oil in the world is the U.S.; and the reason the U.S. consumes so much oil is because of our driving habits and choices of low-mileage vehicles.

In fact, if the average mileage of American automobiles went up by just 5 mpg, we could end all oil imports from the Middle East.

So is it possible to be patriotic, condemn terrorism, and still drive a car that gets bad mileage?

i I think you are right. People should consider gas millage when purchasing a vehicle. The problem is that part of the "status" tied to some of these types of vehicles is that you are basically shouting "I can afford to buy this car AND pay for the gas...look at me! look at me!". Of course, they are most likely in debt up to their eyeballs.

Until things get really bad, this won't change. Materialism rules.

The bigger your car, the more gas you use, the more you contribute to terrorism. As a non driver who walks, I can proudly day I don't depend on oil as much as everyone else. I am praying for the day that gas goes to 10 dollars a gallon or that we run out of oil so I won't have to walk down the street alone and be almost ran over by people who don't know what a crosswalk is.

Not having a President who pledges to rid us of dependence on all foreign oil by 2020 supports terrorists.

It supports W, the oil companies, the car companies - those that can't, won't or don't change regardless of the global warming and the wars being waged.

Yes, I just mentioned this in my last post. We are giving them money. Stop driving walk, ride a bike, take the bus, or just change your lifestyle. If not keep buying gas and complain about terrorism!!!

Yes it does. That's why I ride in a rickshaw pulled by
a mule. How can you afford bad mileage anyway? Gas is close to four bucks here.

This liberal, left-wing tripe is so stale! This particular bit of shite arose a few years ago, it's shopworn and threadbare to the point of banality.

I didn't work then and it doesn't work now. Nothing but a limp, lame bit of propaganda from the liberal left.
