Migraines are caused by many things.
Smells
Allergens
Stress
Certain stimuli like lights, sounds, etc..
Musculoskeletal problems such as neck spasms.
But over all, the EEG tests can show abnormal electrical activity in the brain.

I just saw a neurologist about my migraines. She said they do not know for sure what causes them, but can be caused or triggered by several things...... diet, lack of sleep, lights, stress, etc. You can keep a diary of things like your diet or what has happened that may have caused it. She suggested a MRI to make sure nothing was in the brain that would cause it and also to see the eye doctor to make sure the retinas were OK. Best of luck to you.
