Mainly concerning those who have a personal experience, how is the ride and comfort, are there any early break-downs of the engine? How is the quality of the materials in the car? Also, how is the maintenance?

Well automobile engineer forgot to mention that suzuki vitara comes with a cool price tag of 19 lacs and it cost 20.94 lacs on road.

safari starts at 6.4 lacs.

so the difference will be there.

in the end...you ll be driving the vehicle on road or off road and will not be testing it.

i don kno where our test engineer tested these vehicles.

more over after sales and spares!!! for vitara and CrV it ll cost you a fortune as all parts are imported

am also an engineer and i have been working with suzuki only.

safari is the best SUV that ytou can get at such a low cost.

as for legroom sit in suzuki vitara and u ll feel the same problem.

safari is a great mix of power, comfort and style at a very low cost.

if your budget is under 8 lacs then no second thoughts just go for safari.

if you re planning to spend 15-25 lacs then consider honda crv or vitara

I have answered a similar question just now which I am pasting here too for you.........may be of some help:

Both Scorpio & Safari have some serious technical drawbacks due to which I don't like them, as explianed below:

Scorpio:
1. The vehicle oversteers (I have seen accidents leading to critical fatalities)
2. Less Leg room for the tall drivers.
3. Poor Wheelbase & Tread width, hence poor dynamics
4. Poor space Utilization

Safari:
1. Poor Chasis...very poor (in fact I witnessed one test...where?.....I am sorry I cannot give you all the details...the chassis bent from the centre after the collision...very bad sign)
2. It looks like making too big a vehicle and putting a too big an engine with little practicality. Poor design.

Yes, for a technical ignorant person these vehicles may be great...as you spend less than othere SUVs....but for me..........the vehicle manufacturers have to learn a lot from Suzuki Vitara...Honda CRV....a LOT!

SUV means = sports Utility Vehicle.

You get a Safari at just Rs. 6.4 lakhs. Thats all hence for a small budget person who cann't afford much....... get true value of their money & can enjoy a SUV...... named SAFARI.

As an explorer I use to drive jeep as it is cheap , hardy & you get spare even at the top of Kashmir or in remote village of Kerala. Spare is very important for any vehicle. We say use that vehicle for exploration whose spare is easily available. What will you do with the vehicle whose spares are not readily available every where.

As SAFARI is from TATA hence, you are sure for its spare....... any where........ Now it is your turn to choose on the road or off the road.

Safari is the best SUV & one can get at such a low cost. safari is a great mix of power, comfort and style .

Please mind the utility , Spares , Cost, Workmanship , reliability & style while you compare a vehicle.

As an Explorer we prefer "SAFARI" ...... as it command the road. NO one can neglect a SAFARI on the ROAD...........
