That would be 0.23 of a second, 2.3 seconds would be wayyy to slow :-)

if the tree and the timing equipment is set up where a .001 would be a perfect reaction time, then a 2.3 would mean that you sat there for 2 and 3/10 seconds. A 6.4 would be a horrible reaction time, you have time to brush your teeth and comb your hair before the car left the line. You need to leave as the last amber light is coming on, if your car is taking that long to react to the driver. Or look into why the car is not reacting well. Is it a street car? Or a track only car? If you're running slicks, it could be that you're not heating them up, or the oil in the slicks is gone, and you need to replace them. You could have a rear suspension problem. Lots of variables. If it's a street car, just start to leave earlier, when I drove a street legal car, I would deep stage, and hit the gas pedal as the last amber was just starting to come on. I was averaging around a .064 reaction time that way, with Mickey Thompson street racing tires. My best reaction time in that car was a .024. Change how you're leaving the line. It takes lots of practice. But never wait until you see the green.
