This is not a stereotype, it's a fact that I have personally witnessed repeatedly, and a view that is shared by many.

Although most answered this question in a joking way, the truth is I used to drive 700-1000 miles a week as a field manager, and in fact it seems to be my opinion that many asian's don't drive like we drive in the states. It seemed to me that they may be too short and are fearful of seeing over the steering wheel and so they drive overly cautious or something. All i know is when traffic seemed "held up" on the freeway, if it wasn't an accident...it seemed to be an asian driver. I am so sorry to tell this, it seems to sound like i am making a stereotype, but in fact it was for many years that I observed this. Remember, it doesnt mean they can't drive...they just drive differently..

WIth this kind of question I normally think, 'racist', but you are right. And I don't understand why. I have friends from Thailand, Vietnam, and China - they are all clueless about driving. They stop in the middle of a freeway and try to back up when they miss the offramp ( the same one they have missed for years), they don't look left or right, and they could be driving a 2006 Corvette and they can't get the damn thing faster than 20 KM per hour. They try and get heat and A/C going at the same time, with the windows rolled down, and forget about reverse/backing up, that is the stuff books are written about.

I know many Asians who can drive very well. But, yes, there are many who cannot and some who just will not. Just like people from all over the world.

Singling out Asians as bad drivers without any statistical data amounts to making a racist comment.

I am sure you did not mean that. But it bad usually a bad idea to make generalisations of this nature.

Another stereotypical question. Why are so many people on YA so biggoted, racist, eager to stereotype, just the same as the questions they ask about others that do the same thing.

Some Asians are good drivers, some suck. Same with any race of people who drive. Get a clue!

Of course my remark about all the people on YA who are biggotted, etc.... I'm only talking about the ones who are that way. Naturally, everyone isn't, so you know I'm not referring to you who aren't.

I seriously think you notice some things and not others. You'll notice when an Asian is a bad driver, but you won't notice good Asian driver. And you won't notice bad drivers who are Hispanic, Black or white, because you are stereotypical. You are just single minded and have no depth in your judgement. It's no fault of your own. It's probably the parents that raised you. They were probably low class trailer park trash who had nothing better to do than to watch Wheel of Fortune, and smoke their Lucky Strikes. So it's not your fault stranger, it's not your fault.

a view that is shared by many.

I'm sure you were not elected spokesmen for "the many", so this line was written entirely to back up your allegation.

There are people from all walks of life that can't drive to save their lives.

Actually, when i was in south korea i discovered that they are better drivers han we are. They have smaller roads, more traffic, and a more condensed population. they do know how to drive. Maybe its a language barrier.
