I usually experience this whenever i play a game. I have the laptop on my table hooked up all the time. Usually it goes into sleep mode whenever I walk away from the comp for a few hours, but lately as I'm on it, it shuts off completely. I don't know why. Help please, it's driving me insane. BTW, this is a Toshiba Satellite laptop.

This sounds like sleep mode. You see, during your game, you are not hitting keys on the keyboard. If your computer is plugged in during these activities, set the Powered Up section of Sleep mode to NEVER.

Right click on the Desktop and pick PROPERTIES. Then go to the Screensaver section. Then click on the POWER button. Try settings there.

right-click on "My Computer" and choose "Manage". Expand (click on the plus (+) ) "Event Viewer". Check the Application and System logs for any hints as to the cause of the problem - specifically during the time of the incident(s) in question. Do you have an HP printer with all their software installed, by chance? There was a windows update recently that conflicts with HP's software that causes computers to crash. This is one of many possibilities - best course of action is to first get more information from your event log to see if it recorded what happened.

As you have said by ur self that it shuts when ever u play a game (and by that u mean some heavy graphic game). It clearly means that it has to do some thing with ur VGA and RAM unless you have some milacious activity or virus running in the background.
