Within the constraints of human nature and physiology... but those are pretty wide open. ;-) Agreed.

No, not from Spider-man. Your quote is from the highly underrated and overlooked animated classic "The Iron Giant" (1999)--before Spidey hit the big screen.
But yes, I would definitely agree when it comes to our decisions and personal responsibility. However, I cannot choose to be the next Michael Jordan because natural talent (or the lack thereof) ultimately prevents this from happening.
I would also agree that "with great power comes great responsibility" --a quote from Spider-man. Good flick.

Nope. That ignores the genetic/biological component of who you are. You think you can just choose to be an NBA allstar? Or someone who gets turned on making out with the same sex?

Agreed. But sometimes people are pressured or brainwashed into choosing to be someone they dont want to be.

Granted, yes. But there are times when circumstances dictate who we should be or become.

not so!...we cannot be what we are not...there are limitations...you can trick yourself and convince yourself into thinking you are what you are not...but in the end it will only be a very poor act...
