Try burning scented soy candles! You'll love them! They burn clean without emiting soot or toxins, unlike paraffin candles. They come in a large variety of wonderful smelling fragrances...florals, clean& fresh, baked goods, fruity, candied, spices, etc.

First of all, If it is clean it will smell good. So the cleaner the house the better it will smell. A filthy carpet or couch can stink up the whole house. Dirty laundry can stink so make sure you keep up with that. If anyone in the house has bad foot odor, put their shoes in the garage and make sure there is a lid on their hamper. Put a dehumidifier in the basement. Don't use plug ins or any kind of artificial smelly things. Those mixed with dirt make the house smell worse. You can put some Cinnamon sticks in apple cider and simmer on stove for a nice smell. Whatever you do try to use natural products instead of harsh chemical ones.
Bleach doesn't smell good, lemon does. Use the lemon!

Happy Cleaning!

Opening the windows to air out the house really does help get the bad smells out. Keeping the floor vacuumed and garbage taken out is a must. Then use potpourri or some kind of air fresheners when the windows are closed.

There are many different ways to keep your house smelling good. You can use dryer sheets and put them in different places of the house, you can spray air fresheners or buy some that plug right into the wall, you can cook or bake something that smells really good, you can use carpet freshener.
eucalyptus (dried) WORKS GREAT! and if you broil orange peels and cinnaom together You can buy cinnaom sticks too but , use the real stuff. Good luck!!!

just keeping up with the cleaning of your home on a regular basis will certainly make it smell good.

however, the best thing i've ever done to help the home smell fresh at all times was eucalyptus (dried). you can purchase this at any arts and craft store.

there is also a good suggestion with the dryer sheets (above) and i've even been known to use the cheapest brand of laundry soap (dry) on my carpets...wait about 20 minutes and then vaccum it up. This also works well with baking soda. (without the scent).

the plug in's listed above to me are a big no-no as it penetrates everything in your home, including wood. if you think about it, it would do the same thing to a human...YUCK!

There are a number of ways, some good ones suggested on here too. like the cinamon sticks, the fabric softner, scented candles they all work. Ikea has some real good candles too. You can also put a mixture of spices with orange peel in the oven leave it on low for a cople minutes and house will always smell like you're baking cookies.

I am not a fan of potpourri and many sprays. I end up sneezing and it smells both like the spray and the bad smell. I use two things, though, which I like a lot. first, I like to spray furniture and rugs with febreeze. it seems to work. Also, febreeze makes spray for the air, which works well, although personally I only like one scent. I think it is summer melon or something. Anyway, I find these methods and products effective and not overbearing.

Vinegar soaks up any bad cooking smells or smoke smells. Leave a glass out while cooking.

I put sticks of cinnamon throughout my apartment. You can also put some fabric softener with some water in a pot on the stove and put it on low, just make sure you check it often. Fill ashtrays or bowls with scented carpet cleaner and scatter them throughout the house, and keep your house clean.

Put lemon slices into a pot of water and bring to a boil; simmer. After simmering for an hour, the citrus aroma will refresh your house!
