Cost does not matter! Really!! Then my advice is to take a time to learn pros and cons of LCD and CRT to better narrow your choice.
For space saver go for LCD
For energy saver go for LCD
For avoiding possible electromagnetic radiation risk go for LCD
For avoiding a heavy device gor for LCD
For protecting your poor eyesight go for CRT
For great picture quality go for CRT
Gamers! don't hesitate for CRT

Well it depends on the type of applications that you use.
If you are into gaming or a big fan of watching vedios on your PC then i would definitly recomment CRT's over LCD because:
-> CRT's usually have a far faster response time to the changes that take place on the Screen. In LCD the Ghosting effect is much common and will definitly be a big a nucense in vedios or gaming
-> CRT's have a much much larger viewing angle then LCD's. So you wont have to keep yourslef in the front of the Monitor.
-> CRT's can produce a much better contrast ratio. So the images look much vibrant and vivid than LCD's
-> CRT's can be very easily cleaned then LCD's as they are very much prone to pressure damage during cleaning. You can have a look at all the pervious questions posted here. One guy actually had his lcd screen covered with Black spots after being cleaned!!!.
However is you are gonna do routing websurfing, word processing and using other common applications than LCD's are definitly the way to go.

Unless you are in the design field, it probably doesn't much matter which kind of monitor you get. Since I am in the design field, I greatly prefer CRT because it doesn't blur things like LCD monitors tend to. CRT monitors are also cheaper. LCD monitors contain liquid crystals that can freeze if they get colder than 50 degrees Fahrenheit. If that doesn't matter to you, LCD monitors are much lighter and take up less space. So, honestly I would buy which ever you can find cheaper if I were you.
CRT - better picture and costs less, but heavier and bulkier.
LCD - lighter and takes up less space, but crystals can freeze and picture is blurred.
Check out www.tigerdirect.com. I just got two 19" CRT monitors for $120 each a week or so ago.

Benefits of lcd, you no longer need to worry about screen burn, you still have to look straight on to see the screen in the proper contrast, just the opposite for a crt!

LCD for less space and "cool"-ness to the eyes. Plus it won't explode and cause the fire alarm to go off in case it conks out unlike the CRT that will first emit an ultrasonic whine only to go poof with black smoke rising later on.

If you do digital photography LCD is completely useless for displaying correct colours and is very difficult to syncronise with printers, scanners or digital cameras. And way overpriced.
If you want to save space then go for an LCD.
