I've been wondering this for a while. I know that I have to work to make money for me and my family. Just thinking about going to work everyday for the rest of my life really turns me off. Is there anything that anyone can tell me that can open my eyes to the positive side of working. I'm not lazy or anything like that, I just love spening time with my wife and daughter and hate leaving them everyday.

Just think about work as a tool, which enables the time that you do spend with them to be of quality. Without your job the time you spend together would be one of worry and frustration, because you have no job and no money. A job is simply a tool which enables you to live your "real" life in the manner in which you and your family deserve. Try to make your time at work as fun or amusing as possible. Do what you can to make the time fly. Engage your coworkers and make some "work" friends. It doesn't have to become outside of work relationships, just something that makes you look forward to the time you spend at work.

I've gone through this myself. You need to find work that is personally fulfilling and rewarding. A career should be something you look forward to getting out of bed each day and doing, it should feel like a project. Maybe you need a career change. If not, look for a job with less hours, maybe you are just burned out.

Another option is to save a large sum of money and put it in a CD account and let it grow. At some point, you can just live off the interest it generates.

Good luck

You arent alone guy! The rest of the world feels that way. But unfortunately there are only limited ways we can change this fact. It is depressing for everyone to think about. This is one of the reasons millions of people try to do whatever get rich quick scheme they run across...to try and retire from the endless he** of having to go to a JOB everyday. The only thing that I have found that is a safe way to retire early is real estate. Get as much education you can and do it. Rent out houses or fix and flip. If you can possibly do this in your spare time it is worth it!

If, when, one finds work that is rewarding in ways other than money, that attitude is gone.
Been there, done that for 50 years.
Loved it, looked forward to it, until one day I realized that I was burned out. Sold my business.
Burn out is the single biggest reason for businesses being sold.

I'm retired and alone now. I miss work.
I have taken up music for the past 8 months. Never knew sh** before. My life blood now.

In your case, as in all cases, "balance" is the key. Like we hear about children. Quality time.

If your work is not rewarding, aside from wages, find something that is.

If you realize that working to serve mankind is worship, then you don't mind working ten hours a day, seven days a week around the year. So the secret is to learn to know that we are all the children of the One True God, to serve each other would please Him, then the first thing that bring happiness to us is the change of our concept about working.
See how our mothers work without receiving any salaries. The motive of their sacrifice is love. Yes, let us learn to love like our mothers.
