For acne, the best natural method is to use a high-grade coconut oil. The high level of lauric acid dries up acne very effectively. You can apply it at night before you go to bed, and in the morning after washing your face. It's great as a make up base too. You need such a small amount so a little tub of it will last forever. I also use tea tree oil as a spot treatment, since this oil is able to kill the bacteria that causes acne.
For spots and scars, I've heard many people say that calendula (an extract of the marigold flower) is able to lighten and dissipate dark areas on the skin, even age spots. I have a scar on my hand and I'm definately going to pick up calendula gel at the health food store to try it out.
Also, change your pillowcase frequently and avoid touching your face as much as possible.

Eveyone I know swears on proactive, but to cover up red pimples try rubbing a little green eyeliner on it then put foundation on over that I used to do it all the time and it really does tone down the red

If you go to the dermotologist (if you are not on much of a budget) than you can pick up a brochure about this thingy (sorry, but I do not remember what it is called!) and it is a tool that is painless, that when a pimple pops up, you can put it on there and it applies direct heat to it, and within the NEXT day it makes it go away! If I was not on a budget I would luv it!!!

My mom would always whack me to the doctor when I was a teen to clear up acne spots even though I never really had them bad. The trouble with those is that they smell bad and the cream stands out and isn't meant to blend in. Yuck. Most over the counter acne meds work. Try asking the pharmacist on duty to recommend something. Plus it is way more inexpensive than meds.

Apply a cheap alphahydroxy acid (not the facial peel strength). Most are about 8% Use a hand held massager with infrared light.
The infrared light is what you need to use, not the vibration.
Use the infrared light on your face, but DO NOT use it directly over your eyes, it can burn them. NASA research has shown infrared light is great for healing wounds. It works great on wrinkles and helped me get rid of rosacea.

Oh, my gosh. I got Proactiv in the mail a few days ago, and already I see a difference. It's amazing. It's only $19.95 if you look in magazines for the advert, not 40 bucks on the website.
