There was vast emptiness, and there was a bunch of strong winds that contained certain elements. When the winds got so strong and collided, there was the Big Bang.

Actually this is a religious question. Science can not actually show what was before the Big Bang and therefor any theory or thought must be taken on faith.

Something practical would be God. When atrophy is what's presently occurring in the universe how else would something just come into being? Has anyone actually seen a star that was just born? People don't want to believe the universe was created but is there truly another logical answer?

The big bang is considered the start of time, matter, and space, therefore, there is no before the big bang.

God.

I have a theory that conforms to both Genesis and the Big Bang theory.

In the beginning, God created the singularity, and it was without form and void. Then God said, "LET THERE BE A BIG BANG", and there was a Big Bang.

there was the Darkness and the Nothingness. as they intertwined, they mixed into each other, reaching a point of "potential" at that instant Boom! Light shot through the emptiness and the nothingness became pliable, time began as we know it.

BOOOOOM hehehe There wasn't ever a big bang. That is a bogus theory perpetrated by scientists who don't want to admit the fraud.
God said, " I am the Alpha and the Omega". Do ya get it?

It's an unanswerable question. Either there was nothing, or a prior universe.
