I woke up this morning to a sharp pain in my lower stomache...ouch! Hurt like hell. Lasted for about a minute then went away. Then it just got really sore. And it wasnt braxton hicks. I've been having those for the past 2 weeks a lot. I know what those feel like. Anyone know what I could have had this morning?

Sound like the baby gave you a ping in the syatic nerve. It happens when the baby streches and puts it head on the nerve and it really hurts. especially when the baby decides not to move.

It could have been a round ligament cramp. Those are also common during pregnacy.

"Round ligament pain is generally a brief, sharp, stabbing pain or a longer-lasting, dull ache that you may feel on one or both sides of your lower abdomen or deep in your groin, usually starting in your second trimester. It happens when the ligaments that support your uterus in your pelvis stretch and thicken to accommodate and support its growing size. You may feel a short jabbing sensation if you suddenly change position, such as when you're getting up from a bed or chair or when you cough, roll over in bed, or get out of the bathtub. Or you may feel a dull ache after a particularly active day, if you've been walking a lot or doing some other physical activity. Call your caregiver if this discomfort continues even after you've rested."

It is a nerve thing like what was already said. The baby at various times can play ping pong with your insides and sometimes ping or pong the wrong thing. Also, if it was lower stomach...was it your bladder? The weight of the baby sometimes can be too much for your bladder and will make it sore. Make sure you are not leaking water - a sign of amniotic fluid leakage (which could kill baby) and make sure you did not have bloody show at all. If you are too nervous...you need to talk with your OB to be safe...

Hey congratulations for a baby!

Anyway I have to share a story:

I went to ultrasound because of some health problem. Since it was my first time, I was kinda afraid. So I was friendly to all the patience waiting in the line. Then a girl beside me asked, "Are you pregnant?", she said. "What? Is Ultrasound for pregnant women only?", I asked at the back of my mind. Then answered this lady, "No am still single, I just was advised to have ultrasound for my whole abdomen". "Are you married?,I asked her. She said,"Yes." Then I suspected she might be pregnant, knowing that she's married. She started to tell her story: " I have tumor in my stomach. I feel pain near my belly, then everytime I try to hold and rub my tummy it flattens. My friend accompany me for ultrasound." And yes I was right just what her ultrasound report was, she's 4months pregnant.

Its not new to me, because when my mom got pregnant with our youngest, she was complaining about some pain at her lower back. She also thought she had kidney trouble.

I suppose what you are experiencing right now is the same story with my mom and the lady. ***CONTRACTION***

You might have passed a small kidney stone. I was awoken early in the a.m. with the same type of thing when I was about 6 months pregnant. I went to the Dr. later that day and found out that was what it was. I would go to the Dr. and they should be able to tell based on a urine sample.

When you are having some complications during your pregnancy...you are suppose to contact your OB doctor or go to the hospital labor and delivery and get checked out.

Personally, I would contact the OB. It's better not to take chances with any severe pains.

Maybe the baby his making his/her way down into you cervix, or just stretching. I'm sure everything is fine, I experienced all sorts of pains.
