For me it was Fail Safe. Thats the one where the US accidentally nukes Moscow. As attonment president Henry Fonda sacrifices New York by nuking it. After the movie I made the mistake of asking my father if that were to happen if we would be affected (I grew up near NYC). Ye made the mistake of saying yes. I had a lot of bad dreams after that. Anyway, what movie kept you up nights?

The original Salem's Lot! I grew up in town similar to the one portrayed in the movie and we a few homes in the area that reminded me of the Bartow purchased. The part of the movie that always scared me, was when the older brother came to his friends house and began scratching on his bedroom window to let him in. My bed use to face my window, after I dreamed about him scratching on my window, my parents moved my bed away from the window! That movie still gives me the willies to this day.

My brother and I saw "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" at the theatre back in the 70's - scared the crap out of both of us! I also saw an old black/white movie on TV called "Earth vs. The Spider" - I am an arachnaphobe to this day!

There were a couple. For me, it was the old black and white "Dracula" movies. The other one, I don't know the name, we saw it in church (Southern Baptist, the hellfire and brimstone kind of preaching) , it was about the rapture. All these people thought to be good and nice end up left behind and bad things happen to them. I stayed awake lots of nights over that one.

I had the pleasure of seeing The Exorcist at the tender young age of 8... and it scared the hell out of me. Even today it's a scary movie, but that young when you have such an imagination, I had nightmares for weeks. Too bad they really don't make movies that scary anymore, or I'm too old and numb to them.
