Lower back pain is how my labor always started.
Coming and going is a clue that its early contractions and they will get closer together. Pack your bags lady, your going to have a baby within 48 hours.
Best wishes and give your new package a hug from me!

start timing this pain the second it starts and then stop timing the second it starts again. that would tell you the spacing of the pains. if they are regular and roughly 5 minutes apart THAT is when you leave for the hospital. the hospital will only send you home if you come in to early in labor. if the pains are not regular it is braxton hicks contractions WHICH ARE NORMAL before you go into real labor. braxton hicks are preparing your body for the real thing. SOON you will be a MOMMY!

It sounds like you may beginning labor.

HOWEVER, I would urge you NOT to run to the hospital, as a bunch of other people have suggested. If your contractions are more than 5 minutes apart, they will probably send you home.

Instead, call your doctor/midwife first and get their input.

And start timing your contractions so you can tell your doctor how far apart they are.

Good luck!

If you feel your tummy get tight, that is a contraction. Your body is also preparing to deliver your bundle of joy. Just time them to make sure your are not in active labor. But if ever in doubt, call your Doctor just to be safe.

labor pains can start in the lower back. pack your bags and get ready!! don't take a bath, only shower (and i would do it while the pain isn't too bad!!) and start timing the pains. congrats on the new baby and good luck in labor!!
