Not a good thing at all - Especially if you are not happy with your husband about something. It could raise suspicion, and even worse, you are at a vulnerable moment. If this "friend" is a wee bit tricky, he could get you into trouble and exploit you.

The wise way, is to confront your husband, reconcile with him, and grow closer.

There is no such thing as close platonic relationships... they are borderline affairs.

Are you trying to hurt your husband with this relationship?
Are you seeking support and friendship. When one examines the motivation for ones action, a determination of what is correct can sometimes be made. You are the only one that can determine if your actions are correct in the situation.

It is not fair because you are becoming emotionally connected to someone other than your husband. Some would call that cheating. By virture of the circumstances, more could happen that you will regret in time.

It's fine if you keep it platonic and you husband doesn't feel threatened by it.

However, I think it might be better to deal with your husband's problem (or your view of his role in it) with your husband.
