"All is fair in love and war" is just another bromide fostered by those who choose not to think their positions through, or analyze cause and effect. Attaching a wide-sweeping cliche to something that covers a multitude of sins is propoganda at its very worst.

The non-thinkers would have us believe that "all is fair" when people are murdered or taken captive; when women and girls are raped; when babies are bayonneted in fron of their parents; and when entire communities lay in ruins. "All is fair in war."

They would have us not look at the consequences of men's lowest actions, but instead excuse them. It is a "crime of passion" or the "heat of the moment" that makes men kill their wives, or mothers take the lives of their children. "All is fair in love."

Bromides such as this seek to excuse the worst of human behavior.

Fairness is close to justice.
This quote is from the link below.
Justice is the ideal, morally correct state of things and persons. This ideal has never been realised — the world is filled with injustice; and it is overwhelmingly important — most people think that injustice must be resisted and punished, and many social and political movements worldwide fight for justice.
We humans tend to make value judgments regarding issue such as fairness. It is difficult to determine among folks what is fair. Life is not fair and the winner in warfare, perhaps causes the most destruction.

Love is not fair,ofton..and war is not fair, ofton. All is not fair.Linked together(opposites/love and war) is not possible to be fair.Separatly, the chance of being fair is only in the beholder, but either one,is not held entirely by only the beholder..so I have to believe all is {not } fair in love or war.Whew,I'd rather sort thru my laundry than debate this one..

No. The fabric of our society depends upon acceptance of moral boundaries. If we cross these, we have lost our civilizing nature.
