my local mobile operator says that it has roaming services available in the US. and i've already applied for it. but i was asked to check whether does my phone model function in the US. i'm from malaysia. the phone's bought in malaysia too. and yes, the SIM cards here are not bonded whatsoever with the phone. so yeah, the phone is "free" from any lock.

No, I'm afraid that this model will not work in the US. The Nokia 2100 will only work on GSM frequencies 900 and 1800 MHz. These frequencies are popular in the U.K. and other countries. The only GSM frequencies used in the US are 1900 and 850 (mostly 1900) so you would need a phone that is capable of supporting at least one of the North American frequencies.

well it depends on wheather it's a dual band or a tripple band. might not work with all providers or might mot provide good roaming acess.

in the US, if you buy a phone plan for atleast 1-2 years, you get a phone free or for less charge. enquire !!!

getting a phone & other can be tough if you do not
