Make a purchase from an out of state store. If they want to charge you tax, look elsewhere. Some states have laws on the books about your needing to pay any sales tax not collected at point of purchase. How many people do you think pay the tax? It's an unenforceable law.

I do not believe you have to pay sales tax when you purchase online in most states.
However, if you live in MA when you do your taxes you need to report purchases you made where you did not pay sales tax and send the sales tax in with your tax return. There is also a safe harbor amount based on your AGI that you can use.
