There are a couple ways to do it and the first person that posted her stuff, non of that should be done (well, most of the stuff)
Here are some of the ways:
Adding RAM
Getting a new computer
and Overclocking
overclocking is a way of making your CPU run harder and faster than what the factory settings are supposed to be.
Some computer will allow you to do this "overclock"
while others won't
To overclock you have to restart your computer
while it is beginning the boot screen
access your BIOS
each computer is different
from the computers i had, it is either tab or delete
it usually shows up, but only for a couple seconds, so it may take a couple of restarts to accually find how you access it.
Join a forum such as www.overclock.net and ask them about overclock
they will help a lot
but i say that if you are not happy wiht your current computer
like if it is a Pentium 3 or lower
then get a new computer from Dell, HP, Compaq, Acer, etc.
you can also build your own
saving money and increasing your performance any way you want to.
No software program will make your computer run faster
Infact, they will make it slower by putting more load on what the computer has to do!

There are a few ways you can speed up the PC. If you have the budget, Upgrading the Motherboard/CPU and memory can speed it up a lot. If you are on a tight budget then you can try removing all unused and unnecessary files from the hard drive and doing a defragmentation on it. There isn't really much you can do with the hardware if you dont upgrade it. You can also try and turn off any extraneous progrms which may be loading at startup. To do this go to start, then click run. In the box, type "msconfig" without the quotes and hit enter. This will open the ms configuration window. Click on the startup tab and it will show you everything that loads up when the system starts. Be very careful with what you uncheck in here. If you are not sure what something does, then leave it checked until you can find out what it is. Once you have turned off everything you want to turn off, click ok at the bottom. The system will prompt you to restart. Let it restart. If you managed to zap a lot of items off of the list, then you should see some speed increase. There are a fw things with the CPU and RAM you COULD do, like overclocking them, but I do NOT recommend this option, especially for beginners. In short, the best way to speed up the PC is to a the very least add some memory, and preferably replace the RAM, CPU and Motherboard. You can get some really nice combo sets with all three very cheaply nowadays. If you do upgrade them, try and go with AMD for the CPU. I have been building systems since the late 80s and they have always had the best equipment.

hello :)
well , I have a good idea , i try it and its working very well with me :)
its about increasing the virtual memory in your computer
1- Go to desktop .. right click on [ my computer ]
2- click on properties
3- choose tab [ Advanced ]
4- you will see something called " performance" .. click on setting
5- choose [ advanced ]
6- you will see something called " virtual memory " .. click on Change
7- choose any hard drive D or E ..etc but I recommend the most free one
8 - lets say you choose Drive E ... so click on custom size ..and write in intial size MB = 1000 .. and in Maximumsize MB = 2000
then click on set
9- click on OK
you will notice that your computer will run faster and faster

Rather than buying new hardware, try tuning Windows instead.
Windows runs a lot of unneccesary programs all the time, and turning them off will increase the performance.

Delete any files that you don't need, and remove all files from recycling bin. Increase your ram, and Hard Drive. That should also help with your internet loading time.
