Only during Lightning Storms should you stay out of the Shower and turn of all Electric Appliances

My best friend (an electrician) told me it was okay. So during a thunderstorm I took a shower and ZAAAAP. What I found out was the lightning can hit the ground, travel through it via the rain water and travel into all the metal in the house including the grounding wires and pipes.
The zap was enough to knock me to my knees. As mentioned it was recently on "Myth busters", but just a little late to benefit me.
And yes, I had a few things to tell my friend.

Actually, this was just on Mythbusters. NO, it is not ok. You can be struck with as much force as half a lightning strike. That goes for land-line phones, also...anyway, that's what Mythbusters found.

NO, lightning can and does kill. It is your life DO NOT take stupid chances.The odds are in your favor of not getting hit,but talk to those that have been hit and are lucky enough to be alive.Direct or indirect lightning strikes kill people

No. The pipes are made of iron, which conducts electricity. If lightning struck them, you could be electrocuted.

Go for it......tell me what happens? No I don't think you can because most tubs are made of fiberglass while the other tubs are made of cast iron....therefore unless your tub is made of metal (steal) you will be alive and clean.

NO!!! Lightning can strike and travel thru the pipes and
water and you will be toast!!
