Usually it only reaches "that" family.Thank goodness! That is bad in itself and I agree that another person within that family needs to remedy it in their own lives with some changes.This will change the family for generations to come.I think I heard this philosophy by reading/hearing Joel Osteen.

Sometimes yes, I had a daughter who got in trouble and a friend said she couldn't deal with it and ended the friendship, or so called friendship. Some people are very narrow minded. What made it even worse was my child was grown so I had no control over her any way.

Unfortunately so. My father was a very bad credit risk, and it was a small town. I had to prove myself. My uncles were rowdies and not very well behaved in highschool. Their reputation preceded them. I had to live it down.
