Since when was it designated that specified people created the jobs in this country? I find the question very confusing, are you trying to imply that you are one of these people? Oh and let me just clarify that the majority of vagrants that I have met do not see a dime from any of these organizatins, if you want to support the homeless take some time out of your day to listen to the stories of their lives. I discovered that the most of these men and women fought for this country in the past, and I am not talking about Vietnam, I'm talking about the Persian Gulf.

No matter what political party you believe in, they all suck, they are all crooks, the day i believe they are for the people is when the real liars, (democrat and liberal expecially), who swear they are for the little people cut there own salaries in half and donate out to "the people", they need to deal with the real problems in the US, yes, protection from foreign fools , like Iran and Middle East fools that just want to kill all that dont walk the path of Islam for one is important.....but eventually when things at home become to harsh for everyday consumption, (fuel, food, merchandise) then we will find it harder to have the great military power we are today. When our political powers are so bent on insulting and trashing there opponents of diffirent views instead of finding common ground, thats what will destroy us in the end, ourselves....We have a government that spends more time and money attacking each other instead of trying to work together....We should learn to do that first then worry about the world, let the world (internation community) blow themselves up, you cant drive a car if you mix around the wiring under the hood, repair the car first before you go out on your date......

The answer to that depends on how deep you want to go in examining their beliefs. Conservatives believe in individual rights and responsibilities while Liberals believe in the primacy of the group, but what does that really mean, to them?
Liberals see society as an extended family. Within our families we share things, even food when food is scarce. We're all prepared to willingly make sacrifices for our loved ones. Liberals expand and extend this idea to encompass all people. Within that context, Liberals view anyone how accumulates wealth and resources as a traitor to the group, someone who is hurting the extended "family." Voluntary contributions are not sufficient in their view. All must be compelled to share so that all can receive a "fair" share. We Conservatives disagree with that of course, but I'll skip a full analysis at this level, so I can move on to the next...
What are the assumptions then, that underlie the Liberal obsession with redistribution? At the root I believe, is a basic misunderstanding of economics. Within their mental model of a family, resources are finite. They see it as a zero-sum game, and for one to have more, others must have less. That family analogy, that temporal snapshot of a group with finite resources, breaks down COMPLETELY at the macro-economic level. Free marketers need to accept some of the blame for this. We have often assumed that what we see is so obvious that no explanation should be necessary. It is incumbent upon us to educate those who remain ignorant of the truth.
First and foremost, we must point out that money and wealth are not synonymous, and that wealth can and does increase over time. Money is just a convenient commodity, a medium of exchange that can be universally accepted. Wealth is so much more than that. Wealth is everything of value. Wealth includes structures like homes and office buildings, or factories. Wealth includes cars, furniture, clothing, virtually everything that is either needed or desired.
Wealth increases over time because of an unseen component that is often forgotten: The LABOR and SKILL required to create things. An oak tree can be cut into firewood, or used to make a fine pieces of furniture. The wood is the same, but the value of the furniture is greater. Now, the labor alone does not guarantee greater value, it must be properly applied so that the end product is either useful or desired. The buyer determines the value of an object. It is the buyer who chooses to trade something he or she already has for something they want.
I apologize if all of this seems blatantly obvious, but you can see in some of the answers before me that there are people who do not understand this. One responder went so far as to claim that corporations would be paying a dollar a day to workers, if not for Government regulation. Let's set aside the obvious fallacy of this, evidenced by the fact that 97% of the workers in the U.S. earn more than the minimum wage. That person does not recognize that:
1) Employers must compete with each other for qualified workers, and offer sufficient compensation to attract good employees.
2) Employees are free to sell their labor wherever it will bring them the greatest return. When they take a position, they have explicitly agreed to the compensation offered.
3) All persons are free to start their own business, if they feel they can earn a greater income that way.
4) No business is immune from competition. If they overcharge for their products no one will buy them, and someone will start a new business to offer a competing product at a lower price. If they pay their workers too little, another company will offer those people a higher wage
Competition in a free market ensures that capital flows to wherever it is used most efficiently, and the creation of new wealth is maximized. So long as people remain remain unconvinced of this truth, they will continue to argue for an equal slice of the pie, rather than setting to work baking new ones.

Its a control thing, the people creating jobs don't have the same philosophy as liberals who think that jobs should be the constructive way of spending time until the "undeserving rich" person forks over the "poor workers'" fair share. People that create jobs want to make and *gasp* keep money for themselves. Liberals hate when other people do that.

erm.. which country are u talking about mate?
Im in the business line as well and i agree with u. Ppl out there regardless which country it is, like to bite the hand that feeds them. Ppl can never stop complaining no matter how much we provide. But in business, we can not afford to tend to these hatred. Business have to go on and there are many ppl out there who's willing to work to feed their families. And it is the conscience of a businessman to continue to provide these ppl with jobs. Of course 8-Dave, we hire them to generate money for us.. which business person venture into a business not to gain money? But we are interconnected all of us. We need them and they need us. We could hardly care about those who complains.. They complain when there's job.. and they complain when there's no job. There will always be those who complain. For all the others, we have our job to do and we do it.. cos we have families to feed and life to live.
If those liberals knows whats good for them.. then they should stop whining and complaining and start working to feed their families. Life is not easy to both employers and employees. Employees have to work their *** off.. and employers have to worry every month about the wages they need to pay whether they make money or not. Remember that we are interconnected.. And without us, there wont be you too. ANd without u.. there wont be us. We need each other to live..
SHiraz is right.. the large donation for worthy causes and support for the homeless comes mostly from those who are able and afford to give. Ppl like us donated millions and to some billions of dollars every year to various organisation and even those union that fought against us, only to be receiving ungrateful remarks and actions against us. To them it has become a must and a duty for us to donate and that no appreciation is required.

Probably because if those people who create the jobs had their way, the employees would be working for a dollar a day, seven days a week, in crowded sweat shops... It's not like they create the jobs for the people who'll be working them - they create them to make heaps of money. You might as well ask why didn't the Russians appreciate their Communist leaders for giving them jobs... It's a silly question. :-p
