Hi, Firefly.
I understand tht these final weeks are uncomfortable, but the only thing you can really do is wait, your baby will come soon. The reason that your baby is still inside you is that it needs the time inside you to develop and mature enough to cope with the outside world.
You'll be in hospital before you know it having your baby, please don't be in such a hurry. Your baby should be the one to decide when to enter the world, not you.
Good luck honey.

Sounds like someone is comfortable inside momma's tummy! Hang in there gal. I'm with ya at 38 weeks and awfully anxious myself. Just remember that not all contractions can be felt by you. What's your Dr saying? You dilated at all yet? I'm sure things will be just fine!
Aside from walking, try doing some pelvic tilts. Get on your hands and knees and lower your pelvis, then raise it. Not only does this alleviate any back pain you may be having, but it encourages the little-one to slide into the right position for birth.
Just continue to use this time to prepare for the arrival of your child and get yourself in the mom mode. Relax, rest, pamper yourself. Best of luck hon and here's to a safe and wonderful birth!!!

Contractions can start anywhere from 38 to 42 weeks. You still have some time. Don't worry, it will happen soon. Congratulations on your new baby. I hope the delivery goes smooth for you.
The only natural way to do things is to walk. Try and get some rest between now and the time for you to deliver. Good luck!

Hello,
Doctors will give you at max 42 weeks to have the baby. I know it's uncomfortable.. just hang in there.
What you can do to move things along is walk.. Walk and walk and walk. Also yard work is really good for getting things going. I would go out and pick weeds, till the soil with the garden hoe..things like that. That will thin out your cervix pretty quickly! well it did mine anyway.
Good luck and God bless..
PS Pitosin doesn't harm baby.. that's what they will give you to o move things along. Pitosin makes the uterus contract and that's it.

Sex. I know you don't want anything up there but sex is about as natural as you're going to get.
Ask your doctor about being induced. I was induced (due to toxemia). They give you something called potossium. That is what your body produces to get you into labor. They are not putting anything in you that your body isn't producing anyway.
Good luck!!

Don't rush it maybe your baby is comfortable where he/she is. My baby came 10 days late, one good thing about that is that she develops faster in many things then other babies her age. Developing quickly in speech, understanding, standing etc. Don't worry about the delivery only that your child will be healthy. Congratulations on your new baby.
I don't know about Potassium but I do know they use Oxytocin, but any other remedy then walking can cause complications its better to wait it out.

there are no ways to induce early labor. all the thing you have ever heard about are old wives tales. walking does not help, although tit is good for you. do not drink castor oil! you can have sex if you want to, but it won't help either. yes, semen does contain small amount of the hormone they use to induce labor, but it is not enough to matter. you'll just have to wait.
