Going camping in a state park soon. Guns are not permitted in any state parks. But, I always bring mine because I figure that if I'm sleeping in a tent amongst other strangers in the park, I want to have protection. It would not be hard to unzip the tent or slice it open if you wanted to rape, kill, or rob someone. I know the chances are slim to none, but you never know! Would you (or do you) take a gun???

No.... unless you have a licence to carry it with you in public! A consealed weapons licence, not many countries allow them.

I really dont think its a good idea, and I have many guns and am a keen big game hunter.

If you are worried about protection you should take some self defence classes or carry a knife. I would also reccomend taking other people with you when you go camping (friends).

What country are you from? I think its sad that you need to worry about being attacked by people when you go camping...
Hope this helps...

In my country it is not normal to even have a gun.
Is this park somewhere you really WANT to go and camp in? I mean, if you are asleep........?

no, but I would be very careful of where I was camping, and maybe you should just carry a big can of mace and say it is to fight bears.
