Something similar happened to me once. I tried reinstalling, downloading a driver, etc., and nothing worked until I did a recovery. All your drivers are on your hard drive in the recovery. Try all the other methods first but remember, that is why we have recovery. We are not all computer geeks. Just be sure to back up all the files you want to keep or those that are hard to replace if you do a full recovery. You may want to try a partial recovery first (you don't lose any files). But full recovery usually works best.

Silly.. why uninstall something without knowing what it is? That's how you can break your system.
Check through the CDs that came wth your computer, there's usually a driver reinstallation CD that would have the Realtek sound drivers.
If you have a computer from a major maufacturer (Dell, Compaq, HP, IBM) then you can download the drivers from their website- you'll just look under the model# of your computer.

Easily sorted. Just reinstall your mobo drivers or if you can't find the cd go to your mobo manufacturers website and download them again.
