Congraulations on your bundle of joy!!
My daughter moved A LOT even in our 8th month. I had read for month that towards the end the movements would slow down because the baby would be running out of room. My daughter was 6lbs 1.9 oz. when she was born and by the way she was moving in there she had plenty of room. She made my brother sick a few times just because of the way she made my belly bulge in different places. LOL. It did look like it was from a sci-fi movie. She sure doesn't look like an alien though. :)
She made it hard for me to sleep from about month 6 to delivery day. And let me tell you she didn't stop there. She's 5 months old now and she still makes it hard for me to sleep. LOL. I wouldn't trade her for any amount of sleep though.
Good luck!!

That is normal. I am 38 weeks and my baby is so strong now That i feel her as if she is tearing up my insides. As they get bigger and stronger you will feel them a lot more! It will slow down a bit after the 35th week. At this point they are getting so big and ready for birth. They really cant kick to much they just sort of squirm around in you!
And for the sleeping part WELCOME TO MOTHERHOOD!!! LOL right around the 8th month it is very hard to sleep at night. It could be from baby moving or when baby comes down the canal a bit you will get a lot more pain. You wont sleep anymore! LOL until your child is about 5 or 6 years OLD!! LOL I just got mine sleeping late at 7 and baby number 2 is on the way!
Good luck to you and everything you are saying is very normal!

During most of my pregnancy I was tickled by any movement of the baby... She even got hiccups once a day! But after about 8 months she was so big and trying sooo hard to stretch that it got super uncomfortable for me, and she got really active right when I went to sleep. Her back was facing my right side so I actually calmed her down somehow by rubbing her back with a little bit of pressure and she usually quit partying for a few hours at least so I could get SOME sleep. Try rubbing your belly in different spots just hard enough so the baby can feel it... it might work.
Congratulations!
Oh yeah, and she used to somehow stretch her arm so her little elbow would be visible going across my belly! Looked like I had a little alien in there. ;)

I love when my baby moves that much. We would just sit there and watch her make waves in my belly! Now I am nine months and shes ran out of room and doesn't play as much.. Now when she moves it's really big movements and when she sticks out her feet I can actually see the outline of her toes. It's amazing. I know it's hard to get comfy while sleeping but try to relax and your baby will relax too. good luck

yep perfectly normal. other then lack of sleep its actually kinda funny to watch. i used to lay down flat and entertain the rest of the family with guessing which spot will pop up next, i noticed that most times at this stage if you keep your hands on one spot the baby will respond to the "heat" and bop your palms. sometimes what used to work for me to get some sort of nap is using earphones, stuck on your belly with soothing kinda classical music playing or audio books. in my opinion, all she/he is doing is trying to interact with others , not really knowing who or what is "out there" altho "professionals" will tell you that she has no concept of "others" and is just making usual baby movements. and yep i always thought of the aliens too because it was sort of wild the way my tummy would go totally flat on one side and poof up all on the other like she was pushing the walls trying to find a door :) have fun.

My kids moved ALOT at 8 months! When you become closer to labor the baby will slow down for you.

It's normal, enjoy it while it lasts, it's short lived. Also, don't take any sleep aids! Try to get your rest when the baby is resting.
