I have to give the nod to Dukalink6000. I think probably the biggest mistake of the western world, at least was the destruction of the Library at Alexandria.

Ecologically , we've made just about every mistake there is to be made ! And , what is more , are continuing to make them ...
These , I believe , ARE the greatest mistakes , as they have brought the world to a state where it might soon cease to exist .
All the other mistakes have only harmed people ( a commodity we still have in plenty ) but those which threaten the very existence of our world .... are most serious & should have been avoided .

Of all possible mistakes that happened on earth the biggest was letting Hitler come to power. Followed by every war fought over religious reasons. War is in third place. And egoism is a close fourth.

All the wars and killing done in Europe. That is the palce where most tragic wars happend. What did the people learn from it? There should be no wars in the present time if we would be smart enough. Making weapons is the most stupid business ever invented. Some people who are into guns make extra profits and on the other hand inocent people are dying every day for nothing. Human life should be more respected.

Germany loosing the First World War... it would have saved Europe from a lot of crap, including Hitler.

Believing there is some higher being such as God & Jesus that will save us all in the end. People run to church or yell read and believe in the bible, but what about all the innocent people that are dead just like God & Jesus? We all need to relize that only "we" are responsible for our life & actions. Stand up and do what needs to be done and quit blaming others for what goes wrong.
