I am not kidding - I have a phobia about meeting deadlines and will put off getting ready until the last moment - any advice because I am in deep trouble with my partner who is rather hyper and a hard worker?

Why did you have to mention WORK? I have got to get up at 5.15am tomorrow. I was planning on spending a lazy day infront of the tv maybe a few cans of beer watching the motor racin and football. Now i am dreadin going to bed never mind having to get up at a ridiculous time... Thanks...lol...

Yeah perhaps it isn't hating the getting up part maybe a little of that too though. My fear is facing the monotony of my day. Doing all the same things that I just did yesterday and trying to do them with the same precision.

This goes for work and school. But once I get in my truck and am crusing on the freeway I am always alright! For me it is just the same repetitive stuff.

I suggest that you get ready before you do anything else aside from maybe getting your shoes on, then once all you need to do is put those on then pop on the internet or catch the news or whatever you tend to put off getting ready with.

Do what you need to get done the night before (or even sooner) so you don't have to worry about rushing like a maniac when you get up. Imagine that the deadline is 24 hours or more before the actual deadline, and act accordingly. This will help you to get things done on time.

Hi camillla i have the same problem , so what I do is whenever i get a job I start 'Immediately i.e. before I make up an excuse for putting it off' and stick to it like a geek shut off to any thing else till i finish it off. some times i still fail when something else comes along but there is a vast improvement!

Maybe it's not the right job for you or maybe it's just that your partner's high energy hyper attitude intimidates you. Nicely tell them to not approach you first thing in the morning because you're not a morning person. This way you will have time to warm up your own energy levels before being bombarded with theirs.

Every day I wake up and wish my day was over. I don't like my job at all so I am leaving it in a few weeks. Not sure if it's the right thing to do or not.

The way I see it... If you dont like something, change it. If you can't change it, change the way you feel about it. The mind can be a powerful thing when put into use!!

Yes, I have this trouble but I have an ingenious way around it. I simply never go to bed, so I don't have to get up for work ever.
