Ask the doctor if he offers any sort of financial assistance with the bill. Then fill out the paperwork with everything they ask. If there is no financial assistance program, lots of physicians have arrangements with banks to provide unsecured loans at a reasonable interest rate to pay the loan. Ask if they have that.

If you are under a certain income level you may be able to have
the hospital stay portion reduced or even eliminated. Some hospitals have funds in place for people who make under a certain income limit and the hospital charge can be eliminated.
Ask the social worker or a hospital administrator if they have this funding. Other terms its called charity. The Doctor may be able to set up a payment plan for you, ask him or her..Good luck and feel better.
