I'm planning to switch to cingular, however I only want a prepaid plan. (learned from past experience and don't want to exceed my mins) I do want to use a Treo instead of the phones they offer.
Will I be able to buy a GoPhone with Service then but a Treo (unlocked / cingular) then swap sim cards?????

Yes you can!
I'm using an unlocked Cingular Treo 650 with T Mobile.

[waiting for the Cingular 750 to be released]

I am assuming you are talking about Pick Your Plan (billed to a credit card or debit card monthly), and not Pay As You Go (prepaid cards). If so, it will work but the Media packages offered on Go Phone service do not have the PDA Connect option, which is for internet usage. Paying by kilobyte on the internet will be a killer since the Treo can view full web pages (it will use a tremendous amount of data). You won't get the full benefit of the device, but you can have a text messaging package added to it. If it's a Cingular Treo to begin with, it doesn't need to be unlocked.

Sure you can use the treo, however being a Go Phone customer you will not be able to use the treo 100% for what it is known for and that is the internet
