Quite popular on Cartoon Network- although I think more people were into Samurai Jack a few years ago, before the newer Adult Swim shows like Harvey Birdman, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Samurai Champloo, Venture Brothers and Ghost in the Shell: 2nd gig came along.
I think Samurai Jack's popularity peaked during the Space Ghost Coast to Coast & Cowboy Bebop era...

Samurai Jack (Created By Genndy Tartakovsky) was Old Idea revolutionized. It had a Instant Cult following, PLUS winning Cartoon Network a Emmy for BEST OUTSTANDING ANIMATION (Foster's Home of Imaginary Friends and PowerPuff-Also Created by Genndy Tartakovsky- also on the short list). IIt is noted for its highly detailed, outline-free, masking-based animation style, as well as for its cinematic style and pacing, unusual in today's cartoons. Then the worst happened, AFTER WINNING A EMMY, They can Cancelled the show. But it still has A HUUUUUGE FAN FOLLOWING. Reruns can be seen on TOONAMI JETSTREAM.

Samurai Jack was/is a great cartoon. I used to watc hit with my kids all the time. They were five and eight when it first came out and they thought it was great too. It was actually my son that got me hooked on it, he was watching it one night and ran to get me after a few minutes because he thought it was "so cool".

Did you ever notice that Samurai Jack looks exactly like Prof. Utoniuam but with a top knot?
