Well we just got a 5 year old gelding named ranger, still pretty green but a good ride, lately he deciding to pretend he was a stallion and he started bucking with me on him and he kept mounting all the mares. We have been retraining him so I have only been riding him at the walk lately and hopefully we are going to do some in hand showing in october.

At the same time we fell in love with a mare that had no papers, was a big bully, no papers, and would put her ears back at anyone that would come near her. We started going to the place she was being kept untill she wouldnt put her ears back anymore so we took her to the barn we went to. The owner agreed to let us have her for the summer then decide if we wanted to keep her. I payed her board(200 dollars a month) with a $1000 saving bond I had gotten from my grandmother for collage. Now, its the end of the summer, I have used all of my 1000 dollars, we have payed 70 dollars every six weeks for shoes, plus any shots she needed and now the owner wants us to either buy her or give her back so she can sell her. She wants up to 5000 dollars for her cause thats how much mney she put into her and then did nothing with her so she lost pretty much all her training. We dont have the money she wants so we may have to give back this horse that we have put thousands of dollars and hours of training into. Hopefully we will get to keep her but if we cant we are probably getting adonkey

I have owned and ridden horse for twenty years. I learned how to ride before I could walk. I used to show in all disciplines, my passion was three day eventing. However my parents owned a Quarter Horse breeding farm and I showed their horses in the AQHA circuit which did not always suit me, so I had a Trakner and Dutch Warmblood. Now I have a couple old retired Quater Horses that I have had for ten years. They do not show any more but hang out and kinda live as just pets. But how that college is over I am trying to but my dream horse- A Friesian.

I have two:
Otto is a nine year old Warmblood gelding standing at 16.3hh. He is dark bay with a broad blaze and three socks. He is by a stallion called Sultan (a Dutch warmblood) out of a Selle Francias mare. I have owned him for the last five years. We competed in Dressage competitions until he got injured in the field a few years ago. He has points jumping too but now we hack out and just enjoy being silly.
Marik is 17 months old and already standing at 15.3hh. He was gelded in February. He is bright bay with a stripe leading to a snip and both his hind legs have full stockings. He is by the Bavarian showjumping stallion, Polling, out of a TB/Shire mare. He has Nijinsky blood lines on the side of his dam. I bought him as an un-weaned six month old last year. He has recently had a nasty accident in the field too but we are very hopeful that he will make a full recovery and continue on to become an event horse.

I've been crazy about horses for as long as I can remember...

I have a Tennessee Walking Horse named April. She is 14 years old and I have had her for only 2 years. I love her to death and I never knew how much owners really bond with horses. I never thought that she would be a best friend to me. I honestly think that the horse is the best animal because of all the trust you put into your relationship with it. I trust my horse 100%. I know that no matter what she will never rear, buck, or spook with me on her. It is amazing how much you can love and understand an animal once you spend time with them.

Right now we have two.
One mostly black paint mare Dutchess. Very nice mare but very busy she loves to help you do what every you are trying to do if she can reach you. She gets between you and the thing and stands in the way and pushes on you to get attention. She is rather spoiled but a nice mare and a great ride.
I also have an ex-race horse Leo who is a chestnut gelding about 16.3 hands. (big tall horse) he is a wonderful horse to ride and fun to have around. He loves attention and can be ridden by a child in the arena. He is very fast and needs an experienced rider out on trails.

Tyr - Appaloosa gelding, few spot leopard, my first. I handled his sire at his conception, pulled him out of his dam when he was born. Bought him from the breeder as a foal and bred him to a mare before gelding him at 5 years. He's a sweetheart, but isn't good with beginners. My husband loves to ride him too.

Victory Slew - I bought her for $500.00 and her first foal. X-race horse, show jumper, dressage, and fox hunting. Trains, police cars, nothing fazes her. I trust her to get us safely out of everything. Point her at a jump and she'll get us over it on her own. She's my favorite out of the whole bunch. She's been mom to 2, babysat several other foals. Her last foal I kept, he's got the same personality that she does. Cranky with beginning riders and intermediate riders who really should know better. She was a problem horse with major issues, we worked them out and now she's the best horse I've ever had. A real trooper. We just trail ride now. We've retired from showing, and lessons. And she's Seattle Slew's granddaughter. :) Also, my husband goes trail riding with us on his 4 wheeler sometimes and Vic races him. She wins too! He moves over and lets her pass since she's usually breathing down his back.

Trixie - Tyr's foal. Appaloosa mare, few spot leopard. She's got a sweet temperment. I gave her to my husband, so she doesn't get ridden much. She had an accident earlier this summer and ran into a post and tore her shoulder wide open and hurt her knee. Now she's got a nasty scar on her shoulder and I'm reserving judgement on the knee for now.

Victory Chant - Victory Slew's son by War Chant, Tyr's sire. I gelded him early, he's a solid bay so we didn't want to keep him stud. He's just like his mama. But he's actually taller than her! He's hot tempered. Hates dogs. Fastest horse in the pasture. Riding him is a bit exciting.

Scooter - We bought him for $500.00 and payed $1500.00 in vet bills. He was neglected. He's my husband's horse, he'll come running up to him from the far side of the pasture to have the horse flies smacked off of him. He's a paint with 2 blue eyes and the low man in the herd. He's bomb proof, and my husband trail rides him when I have Vic. Me and Vic charge past him, he just calmly watches us go and putts on after.
