Yes this is the second time McLaren has left him out of the team, and it is not clear if he will eventually call him back for the national team again.
In Real Madrid he has been playing from the start the pre-season games and also the first official game against Villareal.
He still in nice shape with Real Madrid, I don't understand what could be the problem with England National Team...

Yup its true that England didn't ask Beckham to play for England as he is too old to up for the task as there are still a few youngsters that can fill his boots. Real Madrid will not need him in the future as Real Madrid have many qualities player and have the prospect of the youngsters

Real Madrid love Beckham but fortunately he will no longer be in the England squad....he has been a good player for us in the past,
now his days are over as they should be.....
England played brilliantly against Greece recently by using players that have more involvement than did David Beckham.
All good things come to an end my friend....

Its because Beckham can't offer the National team anything they don't already have.
Aaron Lennon, Stewart Downing, Theo Walcott and Shaun Wright-Phillips: Pace and penetration down the flanks. Crosses.
Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard: long passes, deadballs and set pieces, defensive qualities in midfield.
Owen Hargreaves, Michael Carrick: energetic running, tackling and distribution of the ball.
John Terry: Strength and Leadership qualities.
Gary Neville: International Experience.
Real Madrid are only keeping him for his marketing value. That be the truth.
