Yoga is good to strengthen you and increase your limberness and to help you relax and center yourself. It is good for stress reduction, circulation and firming and toning. You can start by purchasing a yoga mat and a beginner yoga DVD at your local Target or Walmart. Try that for awhile and then if you like it go online and buy some more advanced DVDs. It is about learning to take deep breaths that cleanse your body. The nice thing about yoga is that everyone can do it at their own pace. There is no competition, no high impact. It is all about controlled movement and moving your body to the limits that are comfortable to you. If you belong to a gym, most gyms have yoga classes that you can go to if you need the discipline of that kind of setting but I prefer to do it in my home where I can focus more easily without distraction. Plus if you are doing it on your own you can hold the poses for as long as you like whereas in a class you are limited to the path that the teacher wants. You can probably find a list of poses and illustrations for such all over the net too as well as instructions for breathing with the pose. So you could begin right now with no cost and see how you like it. Yoga is extremely versatile and you can obtain whatever level of expertise at it that you choose.

Yoga is great for flexibility!

Here is a list of an entire yoga session. If you click on the links most of them open up with a picture and description of the exercise.
