India is too overpopulated for that to happen, Indians will really need to stop having kids so the population can fit the amount of land.. India has severe corruption problems to the point all aspects of society is based on paying a bribe. Indians have no sense of community and authority which shows in how they drive.
Indians would have to lose alot of cultural values they have to advance.
I see India collapsing into several nations like what happened in Yugoslavia

It is a numbers game: ten to twenty percent of the population is bound to rise to the top of the heap. When India had a mere one and sixty million that did not equate to all that much but now that the population is nudging TWO BILLION, yes there is that illusion. But some simple arithmetic - - - Maybe a couple of hundred million people are happy healthy and comparatively wealthy that still leaves over a BILLIONS people in crowded abject misery drinking unsafe water living in squalid housing.

Unfortunately I think India is it's own worst enemy. Your politics will likely keep you from being a super power. There are some vast differences in your nation that will fight within your country to keep major change from happening. Civil war I believe will be the likely outcome if India tries to make the change it needs to become a real economic force and a world power. I'm not being purposely negative but the nation could likely collapse within itself.

All depends on how successful the U.S. is in preventing that from happening... Could go either way. All the countries in the world are capable of reaching the same 'per head' capita as Western countries - it's just that between Western governments and corporations they manage to keep it from happening....

I am sure that India would not want to be another US. Political divisiveness aside, India's challenge is to include the poorest majority within its astonishing, segmented economic growth.

i don't think it can nor china...to have the same standard of living as Americans...the world resources just can't handle it...America only has about 300 million people...but for India or china to raise to the same standard would put a great strain on the worlds resources...its just too great...i think India can be a great country though...i think it needs to improve its infrastructure...

Yes, in my opinion if the U.S. keep outsourcing the job to them and right now India has 140,000 students graduated from Engineering school while U.S. had only 112,000 graduate in U.S. university this year.
